These tips will make your journey towards unlocking all achievements smoother.

General
- As long as you aren’t caught off guard, you can outrun any predator if they spot you.
- Be sure to sneak frequently. If a mon becomes too aware of your presence, they will stop what they’re doing and you will lose good photo opportunities.
- You can throw a rock at the mons to interrupt what they’re doing and ‘encourage’ them to do something else.
- All photos you submit are saved on your computer and can be accessed outside of the game in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SapphireSafari\Saved\Photos, selecting the folder for your save, and opening the Gallery folder.
Taking Photos
- Unlock all beacons as soon as possible so you can submit photos out in the field.
- Make sure to submit photos in the field and submit often so you don’t lose good shots (hold the submit button). You don’t need to stack up to 10 photos and risk losing some.
- If you found a spot that can give you a good A or S rank photo, instead of taking multiple photos at once, take and submit photos one‑by‑one so you can cover more submissions from a single scene.
- If a mon is caught by a plant or is sleeping, you can walk up and take very close photos without worrying about alerting it.
Tips for taking better photos:
- Take photos from the knees up (key spots are face, chest, and groin).
- Take photos when the mon is facing you.
- Make sure camera focus is on the mon you want to capture.
- Wait a few seconds for the camera to fully focus.
- Get as close as possible (without alerting them).
- Time your photos for when the Perfect Photo (PP) icon appears.
Pink Moon Nights
- Use the Pink Moon Nights to take a lot of good photos for the Monpedia and Monsutra.
- You can repeatedly skip time to Night at the Campsite until you come across a Pink Moon Night. This usually takes about 4 skips.
General Achievements
First Time Camper
Find and activate your first Campsite. You will get this pretty quickly by following the story.
Strictly Botanical
Walk up to any plant that has its vine out and get caught.
Perfect Ranked Skills
Take a photo that receives a grade of S+. You should get this one naturally through the course of getting all of the other achievements. It is currently pretty easy to get S+ shots for mons that are sleeping or caught in a plant.
Three’s Company
Unlock any position in the Monsutra that involves 3 participants. Become friendly with any species so you can interact with them by holding the action button, then select the poly position of your choice.
Pink Moon Shuffle
Leave camp during the Pink Moon Night and remain untouched until dawn. When the Pink Moon Night starts, do not go back to a Campsite. Wander around and don’t get caught. You must move a certain distance during the night for it to count.
My Favorite Photographer
Become Friendly with any Species on the Island. Increase the Friendly meter for any species past the first marker. You can do this by submitting more and higher quality photos for that species.

Multi‑Step Achievements
Taste of the Wild
Know every Species on a deeper level. Mate with each species at least once. You’ll need to first become more familiar with each species before you can interact with them in this manner.
Peeping for Science
Unlock all acts in the Monsutra. The best opportunity to capture these photos is during the Pink Moon Nights. You do not need to take a good photo or even submit the photo for it to count; simply capturing the act will count.
Beacons in the Plains
Reactivated all Radio Beacons inside the Plains Region. Beacons can be found by locating the light gray beacon icons on the map. Once near, you will have to climb your way to the top to activate it.
Mark of the Wolf
Summon the dreaded Malous. See the below guide on how to unlock the Malous. They will spawn during both the day and the night like most other species in the Plains.
What’s Left Behind
Recover all lost Expedition Logs. See the below guide for the locations of all currently available Expedition Logs.

Grooming
This is possible at most points with water anywhere on the map where mons walk by. For most species (Bunets, Rudier, Hoereno, Lecho, Malous, Sweedee), the hot springs at the bottom of the map are an easy spot to get these photos.
For the remaining species (Kokai, Furloin, Caiadaly), I’ve found it’s better to run between the two red dots on the map to respawn the mons until you get a group of the one you want. Then once you spot a group of the mon in question, follow and sneak behind them to see if they eventually head to the water to groom. The light blue line indicates the general area where they could be spotted grooming. If they walk away, simply repeat the process to spawn new mons. It can take some time to spot one.
