Dead Matter Controller How to Use

You must launch the game in big picture mode to see the radial menu
You will also need to change some conflicting bindings in game. For example grenade and flashlight are the same button fire rate and binocs are the same.

What to do

  • Launch the game in BIg Picture mode
  • Change Flashlight to 9
  • Bincos to 0
  • Compass to hyphen (small floating dash)

Find and apply my template in the steam community look for dead matter xbox hobo’s scheme.

Or use this import link – steam://controllerconfig/575440/2208352655

How it Works

  • Its kinda like siege/fallout/day z
  • While aiming you can lean with the thumbstick clicks (like Siege), you can also toggle attachments, scopes and flashlights with A,LB and D-pad up. half holding the aim trigger will not activate the multi-functions or slow down your aim!!
  • Double tapping or holding most of the face buttons has another function, for example tap x (or square) to reload, double tap it to check the ammo, hold it to lower the weapon (like fallout holstering)
  • Hold the start button to activate voice chat
  • Finally everything else maps, items and toggles.etc. including weapon slots 5-8 are on a radial menu which you can use by holding the back button, click the right stick in to activate the function.
  • There is also a driving scheme which you can turn on in the radial menu. this will change the triggers to Gas and Brake for driving cars and such, press B to turn this mode off when departing the vessel

Known Issues

  • I have not really tested driving
  • You cannot see the radial menu unless STEAM BIG PICTURE is on
  • Exiting dead matter will reset the keybindings
  • Sometimes and very rarely its possible to get stuck in between aiming and driving mode.
  • Just use the radial menu to select driving mode and then press B to sort that

Why would i do this?

  • Its more comfortable for long sessions.
  • Easier for people who have recently came from console.
