How to Level Up Fast

Complete Side Missions
Although completing side missions may not seem like a quick way to level up, most optional objectives take you around 5 – 15 minutes, meaning you can blast through several side quests in no time and gain access to a lot of spirits as a result (which can be exchanged for experience points at phone booths).
If you’re looking to net yourself a ton of skill points and help Tokyo’s spirits escape limbo, just marathon a few nearby side missions. After you finish your objective, absorb all the spirits that spawn nearby and cash them in for an experience boost.
Go Spirit Hunting
Regardless of where you are in Ghostwire’s rendition of Tokyo, you’re sure to find an abundance of spirits around every corner. Collecting these floating blue souls and depositing them at a nearby phone booth will reward you with a ton of experience, meaning they’re the quickest way to gain a lot of skill points.
For a quick but lucrative spirit hunt, it’s worth keeping two tips in mind:
- First, head to a shop and purchase more katashiro so you don’t have to deposit your souls as frequently.
- Secondly, grapple onto a flying tengu to reach Tokyo’s rooftops. There’s a ton of spirits to be found above street level, so soar between rooftops and you’ll fill up your available katashiro in no time.
Seek Out KK’s Investigation Notes
Although you aren’t technically levelling up (and thus won’t get health boosts), KK’s Investigation Notes will provide you with 20 free Skill Points when you find them. That’ll buy you some of the game’s better skills and give you an edge if used correctly, making the investigation notes a must-find for those looking to quickly upgrade their abilities.
Investigation Notes are found scattered throughout the world (hover over the shrine icon on the map to see how many notes are in the selected shrine’s district) or can be bought from Nekomata Relic Collectors.
Fight Patrolling Enemies
It may sound like a basic tip, but enemies will constantly be patrolling the streets and are an excellent source of experience. Look around and defeat some foes if you need some additional points to reach that next major upgrade.
Enemies that provide a lot of experience are rare but possible to find. If you’re looking to grind out XP, keep your eyes peeled for Shadow Hunters, Relentless Walkers, Rage Walkers, Shine Dancers, Lamentations, Kuchisakes, Crimson Kuchisakes and Shiromukus.
