Quick Start Guide

The goal of Warsworn: Dragon of Japan is to unify the provinces of Japan under your flag by defeating all opposing clans and having them swear fealty.

The most efficient way to increase your income is by taking cities, building inns and researching “+20% Inn income” in the focus tree.

In order to unlock better units, you need to level up your lord, which you can do by gaining exp from battles. You can check your lords level in the Clan Details.

You should Improve Relations with Major Clans like Oda, Hojo, Takeda, or Uesugi several times to increase the chance of them accepting your requests to join your faction, join your wars or sending you funds. Improve Relations also lowers the chance of them declaring war on you.

Useful structures you can build in your cites:

  • Training troops increases your population
  • Inns increases your income
  • Shrines increase the spirit of your units and drastically improves the chance of each individual unit going into berserker mode which multiplies the health and attack damage of that unit for the rest of the battle.

Character Skills Improved Diplomatic Persuasion – Increases the success rate of diplomacy actions (Invite to faction, request funds, join war)

  • +30 Army Speed – Makes your character faster on the world map
  • +15% Ranged Damage Increases the damage of musketeers and archers.
  • +30% Food Production – Increases the replenishment rate of units
  • +20% Vitality – Increases the health of units
  • +40% Troop Replenishment Rate
  • Unlock Fire Arrows – Gives archer a 20% Increase in their attack damage
  • 10% Melee Damage – Increases the damage of all melee units
  • Enemies will Route Faster
  • Enables Scout Army – You can spawn a scout army to do diplomacy, spy actions or find out if there is a hostile enemy at the location.
  • +40% Spy Success Rate – Increases the success rate of spy actions
  • Unlocks Ambush – You become invisible and undetectable by generals until they get close enough to battle.

Before attacking a city you should replace most of your ashigaru with stronger units like Nodachi Samurai or Samurai Archers with the fire arrows character skill activated. After improving your own army with at least six units (The max amount units if your Lord is Level 1) You should get another army to join you which can either be another clan that has accepted your faction request and accepted your join war request or by recruiting a strong general from the requirement pool. It is also important that you know how many generals the opposing clan has. The first clan you attack shouldn’t have more than one city unless you have a strategy or they are already weak from another conflict.

Spy Actions can be used in a variety of situations.
Observing Unit Type will show you the strength of an enemy general.
Spy actions that go discovered will hurt your reputation and negatively impact your diplomatic relations.
Spreading disease can wreck the population of a city.
Inciting a peasant revolt can be a good distraction. The Rebel armies that spawn sometimes defeat and take over their clan’s cities.
