About Barotrauma

The gameplay in Barotrauma is centered around managing a submarine and its crew. The submarine is controlled using a variety of instruments and systems, including engines, sonar, and navigation tools. Players must manage the submarine’s power levels, oxygen supply, and other resources to ensure that the crew can survive in the depths of the ocean.

One of the unique aspects of the game is the inclusion of a physics system that simulates the effects of water pressure on the submarine and its components. Players must be careful when diving too deep or too quickly, as the pressure can cause the submarine to implode, damaging the crew and systems. This creates a sense of tension and urgency in the gameplay, as players must constantly balance the need to explore with the need to maintain the safety of the crew and submarine.

As players explore the depths of Europa, they will encounter a variety of hostile creatures and environmental hazards. These can include giant squids, electrical storms, and underwater volcanoes, among others. Players must fight off these threats while also managing the submarine and its systems.

The game features a variety of different missions and objectives, ranging from simple exploration to more complex tasks like rescuing stranded crew members or retrieving valuable artifacts. Completing these missions rewards players with experience points and resources that can be used to upgrade the submarine and its crew.

Barotrauma features a robust modding system that allows players to create and share their own custom content. This can include new missions, creatures, and even entire submarines. The game’s community has created a wide variety of mods that can be easily downloaded and installed through the Steam Workshop.

The game also features a character customization system, allowing players to create unique crew members with different skills and abilities. This adds a personal touch to the game and allows players to create their own stories within the game’s world.
