Welcome to our Marvel’s Midnight Suns Challenge Missions Hints and Walkthroughs guide. How to complete the Challenge Mission for every character, including hints (if you want to figure them out yourself) and full walkthroughs? This guide will show you! We know that there are people who have a hard time finishing the Marvel’s Midnight Suns game. If you are one of those who find it difficult to finish the game, let’s take you to our Marvel’s Midnight Suns guide.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Challenge Missions Hints and Walkthroughs

Welcome to this Challenge Guide! Below, I’ll review what Challenge Missions are, how to unlock them, and how to complete them. I’ve separated out a “Hints” section in case you want to solve the Challenges yourself but would like a nudge or two in the right direction. In the step-by-step walkthroughs, I’ve added screenshots where positioning is important or when the step may need visual clarification. If additional screenshots are needed, let me know!

What are Challenges?

Challenges are essentially solo character puzzles. Each character’s Challenge gives you a set hand, Offense stat, and even draw order to complete the mission, so don’t worry about character level or deck composition. The rules are generally the same (no Card Play limit, no Redraws or Moves, etc.), but they’ll all be listed in the sections below.

The first objective in most Challenges is usually to defeat certain enemies or destroy certain objects to add the character’s Legendary ability card to your hand, with the second objective simply an excuse to show the card off. Given the general nature of the first objective, the step-by-step walkthroughs aren’t the only solutions, but do solve the Challenge.

Completing a character’s Challenge gives you 2 rewards:

  • The character’s Midnight Sun (Legendary) Suit
  • The character’s Heroic (Legendary) card

Completed Challenges can be repeated for fun, but no longer award anything upon completion. Challenges only provide you with one copy of a character’s Heroic Legendary card. To obtain upgraded/modded versions of the cards, you must now either craft additional copies at the Forge or get lucky and find one in a Gamma Coil.

Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
Since you get Hunter’s Challenge first, theirs is at the top of each section of this guide, with the remaining characters in alphabetical order.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Unlocking Challenges Missions

To unlock Challenge Missions, the Armory upgrade must be built in the Forge, which becomes available after completing the research project, “Forged in Hellfire.” The requirements to research it are:

  • The Forge must be at least Level 4.
  • Complete 4 missions with Ghost Rider (both Story and General missions count).

The Armory costs 175 Credits to build, which adds the “Challenges” option to the Forge menu. The Hunter’s Challenge is immediately available. Other than Hulk’s, every other character’s Challenge is unlocked once you’ve earned Level 5 Friendship with them.

Unlocking Hulk’s Challenge

Hulk doesn’t have a Friendship mechanic, so Hulk’s Challenge is unlocked by researching “Energy Drink.” However, that research isn’t available until “Change of Plans” has been researched.
The research requirements for these are:

“Change of Plans” – This unlocks the F.O.R.C.E. War Room upgrade.

  • The Forge must be at least Level 15.
  • Complete 3 missions with Hulk (both Story and General missions count).

“Energy Drink” – This unlocks the Overdrive Serum Combat Item Schematic and Hulk’s Challenge.

  • The Forge must be at least Level 15.
  • Upgrade 3 Hulk abilities. Note that upgrades done before this research is available do count.

Challenge Mission Hints and WalkthroughsChallenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
Completing “Energy Drink” research unlocks Hulk’s Challenge. It isn’t necessary to build the the F.O.R.C.E. War Room upgrade, but it does need to be researched. If you decide to build it, it costs 75 Credits.

Hints – Part 1

This section is for those who want to try and solve Challenges without step-by-step instructions and just want a little guidance. I tried combining these into the individual walkthrough sections, but the spoiler tag was finicky with the formatted lists and images. 😛

Hunter – Child of Darkness

Hunter’s Challenge focuses on positioning, specifically keeping track of the resulting position after attacks for both Hunter and his enemies.
Hint 1: Since none of the cards in this Challenge do damage, you need to find a way to knock an enemy into the Crystal.
Hint 2: Work backwards. Since you know an enemy must be positioned within knockback range of the Crystal, how do you keep one alive to do so?

Blade – Bare Fangs

Blade’s Challenge is all about manipulating Bleed by stacking it on enemies and consuming it for additional damage.
Hint 1: The Reaper ability held by the left Whisper of Memory is key to defeating the Incarnation of Memory. How do you stack as much Bleed on it as possible?
Hint 2: When under the effects of Make ’em Bleed, note that every hit in a chain applies 2 Bleed. It’s not just a static 2 Bleed for each target.

Captain America – Guardian

Captain America’s Challenge revolves around his abilities that both generate Block and consume Block to damage enemies.
Hint 1: How do you generate the most block as early as possible while minimizing card use?
Hint 2: The Whisper of Memory holding Tactician is a bit of a red herring. Since it isn’t close to any environment, it can’t be defeated with a single Punch. Using additional cards on it wastes abilities needed later.

Captain Marvel – Hero’s Heart

Captain Marvel’s Challenge centers on card combinations that take her Binary Mode into account.
Hint 1: As you might have guessed from the All In card that the Whisper of Memory is holding, Block is an important aspect of this Challenge. While maximizing isn’t necessary, ability timing is important to raise Block.
Hint 2: Her Binary Mode isn’t used for its double damage as is common in missions, it’s used more for the Block generation. Don’t over-commit to using Binary Mode as the finisher for this Challenge.

Doctor Strange – Strange Memories

Doctor Strange’s Challenge involves his utility cards and the order of operation needed for both card play and defeating enemies. Keep in mind that the Blessing of the Vishanti cards in this Challenge are not upgraded. The damage bonus does not persist through drawing the attacks again. That’s an easy oversight if you’ve been using the upgraded versions a lot in missions.
Hint 1: The Whispers’ health totals are a hint as to what order they should be defeated in.
Hint 2: You need to maximize both Agamotto’s Gaze cards so they don’t only draw one attack. How does affect your order of play?

Ghost Rider – Dark Heart

Ghost Rider’s Challenge incorporates his self-damaging cards to do additional damage to enemies. His Soul draining mechanic isn’t used, though.
Hint 1: You’ll need all your cards, so avoid using Retribution earlier than necessary.
Hint 2: Judgment is an area-of-effect attack. How can you maneuver enemies around to take advantage of that?

Hulk – Monster or Man?

Hulk’s Challenge focuses on his Rage mechanic and balancing generation vs. consumption. Keep in mind that Rage also raises Hulk’s damage output.
Hint 1: There aren’t enough Rage generating cards to hit 5, so Let’s Do This is key. How do you get as many enemies Taunted as possible?
Hint 2: You need that Rampage card one of the Whispers is holding. How can you get that without wasting your Rage?

Hints – Part 2

Continuing the hints in a new section because the entirety of both sections overflows the character limit… 😛

Iron Man – Iron Will

Iron Man’s Challenge is all about hand manipulation and cards that depend on what’s in his hand. Note that unlike most of the other Challenges, you do get 1 Redraw. This Challenge requires more precision than many of the others. The order of played cards is vital to doing enough damage to destroy the Crystal.
Hint 1: While one of Iron Man’s strategies in standard missions is to power up his cards through Redraws, that isn’t the case here. It’s more about both building Heroism for Heroic abilities and having a hand large enough to take advantage of Surgical Strikes.
Hint 2: You may initially attempt to use Surgical Strike as the card that doesn’t get discarded via Precision, but there is another card that is better suited to preserve for another use.
Hint 3: Any Surgical Strikes played must be maximized as much as possible to do enough damage. How can you preserve as many cards as possible before using them?

Magik – Demon Child

Magik’s Challenge is different than most others in that it doesn’t only encompass her turn; she must also survive the enemy’s turn. However, as the legendary card gives her Invulnerable, it’s really still just about obtaining the card. This Challenge is all about knockbacks and positioning enemies.
Hint 1: Don’t overlook the 2 Leylines, one on each side of Magik at the start. With the default camera position, they’re easy to miss!
Hint 2: The green Leyline that applies Vulnerable is key. How can you maximize damage to occur after the enemy is Vulnerable?

Nico Minoru – Black Shadows

Nico’s Challenge plays with the random targets of her abilities. Note that unlike most of the other Challenges, you do get 2 Redraws.
Hint 1: You will use both Redraws. What cards don’t look like they’ll provide much use?
Hint 2: Given the random nature of her attacks’ targeting, how can you minimize the number of targets to gain a little bit of control/predictability?

Scarlet Witch – Witch’s Trial

Scarlet Witch’s Challenge focuses on her abilities hit enemies around her. Note that since the No More card is going to be used on the Incarnation of Memory, you can ignore it as a target.
Hint 1: With the Hex Fields centering around Scarlet Witch, how do you ensure they hit as many enemies as possible?
Hint 2: As the Hex Bolts start to gain more chains, which enemies should be targeted first to acquire more Hex Bolts?

Spider-Man – Wall Crawler

Spider-Man’s Challenge centers on his ability to move around the battlefield and use empowered environmental attacks. Because of this, Moves are allowed in this Challenge, which is unique, but you start with 0 moves. Note that while the initial Challenge screen says you only have to defeat the Incarnation of Memory, the objective list is more accurate in that you need to defeat *all Memories* to acquire the Infernal Spider card.
Hint 1: You only ever have the 2 cards you start with, so the environment attacks are key.
Hint 2: You have to be selective with your Special Delivery+ card. Since the Slider objects all go in a straight line, how can you ensure all the Whispers will also be defeated along with the Incarnation of Memory?

Wolverine – Bone & Claw

Wolverine’s Challenge involves card effects and his chaining cards. The Let’s Do This card in your hand is a natural clue that the Counter from Stink of Fear is important.
Hint 1: The Strengthen from Lethal Pounce is necessary to do enough damage to defeat everyone. It must be played early.
Hint 2: The key aspect of Let’s Do This is only Taunted enemies attack. How can you make sure all enemies are Taunted?
Hint 3: Chain order is also important as a different distribution of the chain attacks can prevent you from doing enough damage to all enemies. Keep that in mind if you fail by just a little enemy health.

Hunter – Child of Darkness

Objective: Destroy the Crystal to acquire the Bladestorm ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use a Charge on the Whisper of Memory that isn’t holding an ability card, knocking it as far to the right as possible (and not into the environment). This is the enemy we’re keeping alive and bouncing around the level. Let’s call him Bob for ease of tracking. 😛
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  2. Use a Charge on the Whisper of Memory that’s holding another Charge, knocking it into the fallen pillars to defeat it. This acquires the held Charge, of which you now have 3 in your hand.
  3. Use a Charge on Bob, this time knocking him all the way to the left, which still keeps him alive. He’s now in a direct line with the Crystal, but still too far away. Besides, Hunter still needs to reposition again.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  4. Use a Charge on the Whisper of Memory that holds Whip, knocking it into the fallen pillars to defeat it. This acquires the Whip.
  5. Use the final Charge on Bob to get him closer to the Crystal without killing him. Obviously, we don’t want to use the Whip as that will discard the Charge in our hand and fail the Challenge.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  6. Use Whip on Bob and knock him into the Crystal, ending his living (un-living?) pinball misery. This acquires Bladestorm.
  7. Finally, use Bladestorm on the newly-spawned Black Crystal to complete the Challenge.

Blade – Bare Fangs

Objective: Defeat the Incarnation of Memory to acquire the Glaive ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use a Quick Strike+ on the right Whisper of Memory holding Make ’em Bleed. This won’t defeat it, but sets it up.
  2. Now that it’s damaged, use Relentless on it to defeat it, which acquires Make ’em Bleed.
  3. Use Make ’em Bleed to activate its Bleed application effect and draw Strike.
  4. Use Strike to target both the remaining Whisper of Memory and the Incarnation of Memory. This applies 2 Bleed to both targets.
  5. Use Daywalker‘s full combo (all 4 targets) on the Incarnation of Memory. This applies 8(!) Bleed, resulting in a total of 10.
  6. Use the remaining Quick Strike+ on the Whisper of Memory. This defeats it and acquires Reaper.
  7. Use Reaper on the Incarnation of Memory. This consumes the full stack of 10 Bleed for additional damage, more than enough to defeat it. Blade now acquires Glaive.
  8. Use Glaive on the newly-spawned Black Crystal to complete the Challenge.

Captain America – Guardian

Primary Objective: Defeat the Incarnation of Memory to acquire the Shield Charge ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use Punch on the Whisper of Memory on the right that holds The Best Defense. Knock it into the columns to defeat it.
  2. Use the acquired The Best Defense to start earning Block with all damage dealt and gain 2 Heroism.
  3. Use Shield Bounce on the three Whispers of Memory closest to the Incarnation of Memory. This leaves the one holding Shield Bash as the final Whisper and acquires Tactician. Captain America’s Block is now 36.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  4. Use Punch on the final Whisper of Memory and knock it into the columns to defeat it. This acquires Shield Bash and raises Captain America’s Block to 46.
  5. Use Tactician to gain more Block and draw 2 cards (a second Shield Bash and a Punch). Captain America’s Block is now at maxed at 62 (equal to his health).
  6. Use the first Shield Bash on the Incarnation of Memory, dealing 20 damage, which offsets the consumption of 15 Block.
  7. Repeat that with the second Shield Bash on the Incarnation of Memory.
  8. Use Punch on the Incarnation of Memory, knocking it into the wall to defeat it. This acquires Shield Charge.
  9. Finally, use Shield Charge on the newly-spawned Black Crystal to complete the Challenge.

Captain Marvel – Hero’s Heart

Primary Objective: Defeat the Crystal to acquire the Supernova ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use Cosmic Ray on the Whisper of Memory.
  2. Follow up by using Quick Jab on it.
  3. Now use Knee Strike on it to generate a little Block and get the Go Binary card. Note that we could have maximized Block by waiting to Knee Strike during the effects of Binary Mode, but the gain is only an extra 5 Block and end result is the same.
  4. Use Go Binary to enter Binary Mode and gain more Block. Captain Marvel’s Block total is now at 34.
  5. Use Fists of Radiance on the Whisper of Memory, knocking it into the Crystal to defeat the enemy and damage the Crystal. This also acquires the All In card. This is where skipping the chance to maximize Block above evens out. The extra 5 Block is offset by the extra 5 damage the knockback dealt while in Binary Mode.
  6. Use One Step Ahead to draw 2 cards, Regroup and another Fists of Radiance. This is an important step because we need that Regroup to raise Block higher for All In.
  7. Use Regroup to raise Block, which results in a total of 48. This is also a great screenshot/photo opportunity!
  8. Use All In, which greatly raises Offense, but ends Binary Mode since Captain Marvel no longer has any Block.
  9. Use Fists of Radiance on the Crystal. There will be a warning that it’s immune to knockback, but that’s fine.
  10. Use Rain of Blows on the Crystal, destroying it and acquiring Supernova.
  11. Use Supernova on the newly-spawned Black Crystal to complete the Challenge.

Doctor Strange – Strange Memories

Objective: Destroy the Crystal to acquire the Seven Suns of Cinnibus ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.
  • TIP: Defeat Whispers of Memory to acquire additional cards!
(I have no idea why this is included on the Rules screen for only Doctor Strange when it pertains to almost everyone else as well…)

Walkthrough:

  1. Use a Bolt of Balthakk on one of the Whispers of Memory holding a Blessing of the Vishanti. They both have the same health, so either works. This defeats the enemy and acquires the card.
  2. Use the Blessing of the Vishanti to boost the attacks in your hand.
  3. Use another Bolt of Balthakk on one of the Whispers holding an Agamotto’s Gaze. Again, this pair has the same health, so either works. This defeats the enemy and acquires the card.
  4. Use Agamotto’s Gaze to draw the last two copies of Bolt of Balthakk. Remember that the Blessing of the Vishantis here are not upgraded, so they’ll be weaker than the one still remaining in your hand from the start.
  5. Use one of the just drawn (weaker) Bolt of Balthakks on the other Whisper holding an Agamotto’s Gaze. This defeats it and acquires the card.
  6. Use the other weaker Bolt of Balthakk on the other Whisper holding a Blessing of the Vishanti. This defeats it and acquires the card.
  7. Use Agamotto’s Gaze to draw the last two copies of Bolt of Balthakk again.
  8. Use the Blessing of the Vishanti to boost the attacks in your hand.
  9. Use the strongest Bolt of Balthakk on the Incarnation of Memory. This defeats it and acquires Resonance.
  10. Use Resonance to generate an additional 2 copies of Bolt of Balthakk. You should now have 4 copies in your hand that deal 22 damage each.
  11. One by one, use all 4 Bolt of Balthakks on the Crystal. This destroys it and acquires Seven Suns of Cinnibus.
  12. Use Seven Suns of Cinnibus to destroy the newly-spawned Black Crystal and complete the Challenge.

Ghost Rider – Dark Heart

Primary Objective: Defeat the Whispers of Memory to acquire the Penance Stare ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use a Lash on the left-most Whisper of Memory and knock it into the center Whisper. We’re assembling a close group for Judgment.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  2. Use the other Lash on the farthest Whisper of Memory and knock it into the center Whisper. It’s fine that this defeats the latter. Amusingly, you could also knock it into Ghost Rider himself, which keeps the center Whisper alive, but it doesn’t affect the outcome.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  3. Use Judgment on any of the clumped Whispers of Memory to take all of them out.
  4. Use Retribution on the final, right-most Whisper of Memory, knocking it into the fallen pillars to defeat it. We saved this for last to make the random discard moot. This acquires Penance Stare and Drain Soul, but we’ll only need the former.
  5. Use Penance Stare on the Incarnation of Memory to complete the Challenge. This is another great screenshot/photo opportunity!

Hulk – Monster or Man?

Objective: Reach 5 Rage to acquire the Worldbreaker ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use a Gamma Kick on the lone Whisper of Memory to the right and knock it into the walls. This Taunts it and sets up a knockback on the Whisper holding Rampage.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  2. Use the other Gamma Kick on the Whisper holding Rampage and knock it into one of the other Whispers. The Taunt in this step doesn’t matter.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  3. Use a Smash on the Whisper holding Rampage.
  4. Use Crush on the Whisper holding Rampage, which defeats it and acquires the card.
  5. Use Rampage, chaining 1 attack on each of the 3 grouped Whispers. All 4 remaining enemies are now Taunted.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  6. Use Let’s Do This to make all 4 Taunted enemies attack Hulk, generating 4 Rage.
  7. Use the last Smash on any one of the remaining Whispers. This generates the 5th Rage and acquires Worldbreaker.
  8. Use Worldbreaker (and its immense area of effect) to defeat all the Whispers and complete the Challenge.

Iron Man – Iron Will

Objective: Destroy the Crystal to acquire the Hellfire Beam ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • One Redraw is available but Move is disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Recharge a New Plan. This draws Leave It to Me, a vital card for this Challenge.
  2. Use Heads Up on Iron Man. The Block is inconsequential, but the +2 Heroism is currently the highest earner in a single card.
  3. Use Precision to prevent the next card played from being discarded. Initially, you may think this should be Surgical Strike, but your hand is too small for that to be viable.
  4. Use Leave It to Me, which draws another New Plan and another Blast. Due to Precision, Leave It to Me remains in your hand.
  5. Use Leave It to Me a second time, drawing Heads Up and another Surgical Strike. The two Surgical Strikes in your hand are key, but now the issue is making sure they’re optimally used. It’d be easy to assume that since you don’t have enough Heroism to use both yet, you should use something like New Plan to raise it. However, that lowers your hand count enough where you’ll be just short of destroying the Crystal.
  6. Use a Surgical Strike on the Crystal with the full combo of 8 for a total of 96 damage.
  7. Use Heads Up on Iron Man, again solely for the Heroism. You’ll now realize that the New Plans were a diversion, you never needed to double your Heroism.
  8. Use the other Surgical Strike on the Crystal with the full combo of 6 for a total of 72 damage. The Crystal is now at 15 health, which is perfect. If we used a card on Step 6 to gain Heroism, the subsequent Surgical Strikes would only have chained for 7 and 6 attacks, respectively. That would have left us 12 damage short of destroying the Crystal.
  9. Use a Blast on the Crystal, ignoring the warning that it’s immune to Knockback.
  10. Use another Blast on the Crystal.
  11. Use the final Blast on the Crystal, destroying it. This acquires Hellfire Beam.
  12. Use Hellfire Beam on the newly-spawned Black Crystal to complete the Challenge.

Magik – Demon Child – Marvel’s Midnight Suns Challenge Missions

Objective: Acquire and use the Darkchylde card to survive the enemy attacks.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if Magik is defeated on the enemy turn.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use Limbo’s Grasp. You only have the one Limbo Portal card, but it still adds damage.
  2. Use Limbo Portal and aim it at the green Leyline on the right. You need to apply this Vulnerable as early as possible to do enough damage to the target enemy. We’re not using a Trap Door because we’re saving that 10 damage for after Vulnerable is applied.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  3. Use Quick Soulslash on the Incarnation of Memory that holds Darkchylde, knocking it through the portal and into the green Leyline. This applies Vulnerable to the enemy. Again, we’re using a non-damage card to save the others for after it’s Vulnerable. Note that this is the only enemy we’re going to target. The others are just for show (and to attack on their turn).
  4. Now you’ll use a Trap Door on the target and move it in front of the red Leyline.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  5. Use Kick on the target and knock it into the red Leyline. Depending on how you positioned things, Magik may take damage here (or earlier), but it’s not going to affect anything.
  6. Use the other Trap Door and move it anywhere that allows it to be knocked into something. I have it close to the far wall, but it can be anywhere, even next to another enemy.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  7. Use Soul Blast on the target and knock it into a wall, an enemy, whatever you want, as long as it’s defeated. This acquires Darkchylde.
  8. Use Darkchylde, which gives Magik Invulnerable.
  9. End your turn.
  10. Watch the enemy attacks do nothing on their turn, which will complete the Challenge.

Nico Minoru – Black Shadows

Objective: Defeat the Whispers to acquire the Crack in the Sky ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Two Redraws are available, but Move is disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Redraw Blood Magic. You don’t need the Lifesteal since enemies won’t be attacking. This will give you another Double Up, but this one is for Attack cards instead of Heroic cards.
  2. Use the Double Up to gain another copy of Witchstorm.
  3. Use the other Double Up to gain another copy of Witchfire.
  4. Since it looks like you’ll be using both Witchfires, you can safely Redraw Empower. Note that you could have done this earlier as Step 2. Redrawing will give you a new Blood Magic, but this one Strengthens.
  5. Use Blood Magic to Strengthen Nico.
  6. Use Witchstorm on the left-most Whisper of Memory. This minimizes the possible targets from 3 (if you targeted one of the inner ones) to 2.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  7. Do the same on the other side and use Witchstorm on the right-most Whisper of Memory. All Whispers are now at 32 health, perfect for Witchfire.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  8. Use a Witchfire, which defeats 2 of the Whispers of Memory.
  9. Use the other Witchfire, which defeats the remaining enemies. This acquires Crack in the Sky.
  10. Use Crack in the Sky to complete the Challenge. This is another great screenshot/photo opportunity!

Scarlet Witch – Witch’s Trial

Primary Objective: Defeat the Whispers of Memory to acquire the No More ability card, then use it to defeat the Incarnation of Memory.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use a Quick Toss+ on one of the farther Whispers of Memory and knock it closer to Scarlet Witch. We’re setting these up for the Hex Fields.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  2. Use the other Quick Toss+ on the other Whisper and knock it closer to Scarlet Witch. Every enemy should be within her radius now.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  3. Use a Hex Field. This should hit every enemy, and if it doesn’t, you’ll have to restart the encounter.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  4. Use the other Hex Field.
  5. Use Hex Bolt on the most damaged Whisper that holds another Hex Bolt. This defeats the enemy and acquires the held card.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  6. Use Hex Bolt and chain the full 2 attacks on the other Whisper that holds the final Hex Bolt. This defeats the enemy and acquires the held card.
  7. Use the last Hex Bolt to defeat the remaining two enemies by chaining 2 attacks on the healthier Whisper and 1 on the weaker one. This acquires No More.
  8. Use No More to complete the Challenge.

Spider-Man – Wall Crawler

Objective: Defeat the Incarnation of Memory all Memories to acquire the Infernal Spider ability card. The initial Challenge screen is incorrect, you do need to defeat all enemies.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Move is allowed but Redraw is disabled.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use Opportunist for the 2 Moves and the 2 free environment attacks.
  2. Use Special Delivery+ on the right-most Whisper of Memory, knocking it into the Incarnation of Memory. This defeats the targeted Whisper. The remaining Whispers will all be collateral damage to Slider attacks.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  3. Move Spider-Man behind the closer Slider, lining up with the Incarnation of Memory.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  4. Use the Slider to knock the Incarnation of Memory into the Whisper along a straight line, which defeats the Whisper.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  5. Move Spider-Man behind the Slider on the left, again lining up with the Incarnation of Memory.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  6. Use the Slider to knock the Incarnation of Memory into the Whisper along a straight line, which defeats the Whisper.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  7. Move Spider-Man to the other side of the final Slider, again lining up with the Incarnation of Memory.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  8. Use the last Slider to knock the Incarnation of Memory into the short wall, which defeats the enemy. This acquires Infernal Spider.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  9. Use Infernal Spider, which is a great screenshot/photo opportunity. The misleading thing about this Challenge is that you’ll now draw 3 cards to use against the newly-spawned Black Crystal, Up Here! and 2 Chain Strikes. You’ll notice that the card doesn’t actually draw anything, though it can be upgraded to draw a single Spider-Man card. These free draws are just part of the Challenge. Keep that in mind if you’re planning to use it in Spider-Man’s deck.
  10. Use the Up Here! and 2 Chain Strikes in any order on the Black Crystal to complete the Challenge.

Wolverine – Bone & Claw

Primary Objective: Defeat the Whispers of Memory to acquire the Midnight Special ability card.
Rules:

  • There are infinite Card Plays.
  • Redraw and Move are disabled.
  • The Challenge is failed if there are no more cards to play or the turn ends.

Walkthrough:

  1. Use Lethal Pounce on the closest Whisper of Memory on the left with a full combo to gain Strengthen. It doesn’t have to be this enemy, but that’s how this walkthrough will complete.
    Challenge Mission Hints and Walkthroughs
  2. Use Chain Swipes on the closer Whispers, with the first chain on the injured enemy and the remaining 2 on the uninjured one. This Taunts both Whispers on this end of the map.

  5. Use the other Power Slash on the other Whisper, also knocking it into the short wall. This again applies Vulnerable.
  6. Use Let’s Do This, which now affects all 4 Whispers. Due to the combination of Wolverine’s Strengthen and the Vulnerable you just applied, the 2 most recently attacked enemies will be defeated. Don’t worry about the damage Wolverine takes, it won’t matter.
  7. Use Eviscerate on the final two Whispers, using 2 chains on each. This defeats them both and acquires Midnight Special.
  8. Use Midnight Special to complete the Challenge.
