Garden

The Garden is the first area you’ll play through in Untitled Goose Game. As such, most of the puzzles are here to help you learn the ropes, and there’s only one person to contend with.

Get Into the Garden

The way to the garden is locked, but you can trick the groundskeeper into opening the way. Grab the radio on the top of the bags of soil (move one of the bags out of the way) and it’ll start playing. The groundskeeper will come out and chase after you, opening the way.

Get the Groundskeeper Wet

Right on the outside of the garden is a hose connected to the sprinkler. Turn on the hose when the groundskeeper is nearby and he’ll get wet. You can make him come close by stealing and item and putting it next to the sprinkler.

You can also complete this task by making the Groundskeeper wade in the lake nearby, which he’ll do if he’s trying to get an item that you threw in there back.

Steal the Groundskeeper’s Keys

To do this, you need to grab the keys from the Groundskeeper’s side while he’s distracted. The easiest way to do this is to move the cooler around so he has to pick it up with both hands. Do that, and you can quietly sneak behind him and grab them without him noticing.

Go ahead and throw them in the lake, it’s more fun that way.

Make the Groundskeeper Wear His Sun Hat

To make the Groundskeeper change hats, you’ll need him to take off his first hat. Or rather, you can take it off for him.

Hide around the garden and wait for the Groundskeeper to tend to the garden, then you can sneak to his side and swipe the hat right off his head. Alternatively, you can snag the hat from him when he takes it off to wipe his brow.

Run away with the hat and hide it in the bushes, and the Groundkeeper will be forced to wear the sun hat.

Rake in the Lake

For this task, you need to steal the Groundkeeper’s rake and throw it in the lake.

The rake is in the back of the garden near the shed, but if you start dragging it the groundskeeper will notice and chase you off. Instead, the best thing to do is distract him by messing with other parts of the garden and grab it while he’s resolving some other mess.

Grab the tulip from the garden and start running to the left side of the garden. After the groundskeeper catches you, run back to the rake and drag it along the right side of the garden, so you don’t get caught. Once you clear the garden entrance you should be home free!

Have a Picnic

This task involves taking a bunch of items around the Garden and placing them on the picnic blanket near the lake.

The sandwich and apple are on the bench when you first cross the lake into the area. You’ll need both sandwich halves to have the sandwich count towards the task completion. The picnic basket is right next to the bench, so drag it over as well.

The carrot and pumpkin are in the garden. The pumpkin is heavy and difficult to move, so plan a distraction for the Groundskeeper to distract him while dragging it off.

The jam and thermos are on the table near the shed, and the radio will be moved to the same area after its initial usage to open the Garden gate. Grab the radio last, as the Groundskeeper will chase after you, and if he notices the other picnic items, he’ll start putting them back.

Make the Groundskeeper Hammer His Thumb

This task will unlock after completing some of the earlier tasks. Completing this task will let you go to the next area.

The Groundskeeper will be putting up a No Geese sign. Sneak up behind him and honk just before the hammer comes down to make him miss the sign and smash his thumb, unlocking the way to the next area.

If you mess up the timing, head to the sign and knock it down to get another attempt.
