DISTRAINT – %100 Complete Guide Walkthrough

This walkthrough will help you to finish the game.
Introduction

Actually i was planning to not create a guide for this game, but seeing that i have to come back and forth to check a lot of things just to progress in the game, i think this game needs a guide, even if it’s a short one.

The First Distraint

Hallway

– Knock on all the doors and then knock the middle door.
– Go to the middle door.

Mrs. Goodwin’s Home

– Talk to the lady.
– Inspect the rocking chair, door, and photo.
– Talk to the lady (again).
– Activate the lantern (the default button is F).
Note that you can’t activate the lantern in Deluxe Edition. Credits to q51 for letting me know.
– Return to the Hallway.

Distraint 1The First Distraint

Take over the property of Mrs. Goodwin.

It should pop out when you leave Mrs. Goodwin’s Home.

Hallway

– Inspect the elevator in the leftmost area.
– Go to the rightmost door.

Apartment 213 – Living Room

– Save your game.
– Inspect the first door you find to find it locked.
– Go to the rightmost door.

Apartment 213 – Kitchen

– Go to the door.

Apartment 213 – Bathroom

– Inspect the bathtub to get Ice Cube.
– Return to Apartment 213 – Kitchen.

Apartment 213 – Kitchen

– Use Ice Cube to the oven on the rightmost area to get Key.
– Return to Apartment 213 – Living Room.

Apartment 213 – Living Room

– Use Key to open the locked door.
– Enter the room.

Apartment 213 – Room One

– Go to the door.

Apartment 213 – Room Two

– Inspect the chair on the top of the desk in the rightmost area to get Horror Book.
– Go to Apartment 213 – Room One.

– Use Horror Book on the bookcase to get Finance Book.
– Go to Apartment 213 – Room Two.

– Use Finance Book on the bookcase to reveal a door.
– Go to the door.

– Talk to the guy.
– Go to the door.

Distraint Getting Ready to Work

Hallway

– Inspect the red thing and go all the way to the right.

Price’s Home – Bedroom

– Go to the door.

Price’s Home – Kitchen-Living Room

– Go to the rightmost area and inspect the white item (coffee maker) on the kitchen to get Empty Coffeepot.
– Go to the door next to the coffee pot.

Price’s Home – Bathroom

– Use Empty Coffeepot to the closet.

Distraint 2Where Is Your Dignity?

Try taking water for the coffee from the toilet.

– Use Empty Coffepot on the sink.
– Return to Price’s Home – Bedroom.

Price’s Home – Bedroom

– Use Empty Coffeepot to the washbasin (?) to get Full Coffeepot.

Distraint 3Coffee, Please!

Find water to make coffee.

– Return to Price’s Home – Kitchen-Living Room.

Price’s Home – Kitchen-Living Room

– Use Full Coffeepot to the coffee maker.
– Inspect the TV in the leftmost area.
– Go to Price’s Home – Bathroom.

Price’s Home – Bathroom

– Return to Price’s Home – Kitchen-Living Room after you read the dialogue.

– Inspect the coffee.
– Go to Price’s Home – Bedroom.

– After the dialogue, inspect the wardrobe.

The Second Distraint

Forest
  • Notice a sign saying “NO TRESPASSERS!” near the entrance.
  • Head all the way to the right until you find a cabin.
  • Inspect the door to find it locked.
  • Head all the way to the right until you find a man.
  • Talk to the man to get Key.
  • Return to the door that you inspected before and inspect the wood next to it to get Firewood.
  • Use Firewood to the sign near the entrance.
Distraint 4The Long Walk

Try to use any item with a sign.

– Use Key to the door that you inspected before.
– Enter the cabin.
Cabin – Living Room

– Use Firewood on the fireplace.
– Go to the door.

Cabin – Hallway

– Inspect the lamp in the rightmost area to get Matches.
– Return to Cabin – Living Room.

Cabin – Living Room

– Use Matches on the fireplace.
– Return to Cabin – Hallway.

Cabin – Hallway

– Go to the first door you find.

Cabin – Bedroom

– Inspect the trash can to get Papers.
– Return to Cabin – Living Room.

Cabin – Living Room

– Use Papers and Matches on the fireplace.

Distraint 5The Fire Maker

Create fire.

– Talk to the man.
– Go to Cabin – Bedroom.
Cabin – Bedroom

– Inspect the dog bed near the lamp.
– Return to the man (Mr. Tailor).
– Go to Cabin – Hallway.

Cabin – Hallway

– Go to the rightmost door (there is another door on the rightmost area, right from the place where you get Matches).

Cabin – Kitchen

– Go to the first door that you find.

Cabin – Bathroom

– Inspect the bathtub.
– Follow the scent to the locked door.
– Return to the man (Mr. Tailor) .
– Go to Cabin – Bedroom.

Cabin – Bedroom

– Inspect the desk to figure out the 4 number combination for the locked door.
– Go to Cabin – Hallway.

Cabin – Hallway

– Open the locked door with the 4 number combination you found before.

Cellar

– Follow the scent until you enter 2 rooms.
– Notice a compressor on the left.
– Head right and go upstairs.

Shed

– Inspect the desk to find Gasoline Can.
– Inspect the rightmost area.

Fores

– Go all the way to the right and use Gasoline Can to the dog.

Distraint 6Sniff This!

Try to offer the dog some gasoline.

– Return to the Cellar.
Cellar

– Use Gasoline Can to the compressor.
– Enter the room that you passed when you follow the dog scent.

Cellar

– Inspect the washer.
– Wait for a few second for the cutscene.
– Inspect the washer (again) to get Glove.
– Return to the dog’s place.

Forest

– Use Glove to the dog.
– Go all the way to the left until you get a cutscene.
– Go all the way to the right and talk to the man.

Distraint 7The Second Distraint!

Take over the property of Mr. Tailor.

– Enter the cabin.

Cabin – Living Room

– Talk to the guy.

Distraint Visiting Mrs. Goodwin

– Head all the way to the right until you find a room.
– Enter the room.
– Head all the way to the right and talk to the crying Mrs. Goodwin.
– Head all the way to the right and answer the phone.

Price’s Home – Bedroom

– Go to Price’s Home – Kitchen-Living Room.

Price’s Home – Kitchen-Living Room

– Inspect the coffee maker in the rightmost area.
– Answer the phone (the phone is near the door to the bedroom).
– Talk to the ghost in the living room.
– Inspect the coffee maker.
– Go to Price’s Home – Bedroom.

Price’s Home – Bedroom

– Inspect the wardrobe.

Nursing Home – Lobby

– Go to the rightmost room (inspect the “light” on the rightmost area).

Nursing Home – Basement

– Head all the way to the left to find someone speaking to get a Key.
– Go to the room left from the save point.

Nursing Home – Hallway

– Use Key to the rightmost door.
– Enter the room.

Nursing Home – Electric Central

– Go to the right and inspect the fuse box.
In order to light the fuse, you have to press action button when the green square is highlighting the circle in the correct order. You have to find it through trial and error.

Distraint 8The Electrician!

Get the electricity back on.

– Return to Nursing Home – Basement.

Nursing Home – Basement

– Go all the way to the left until you find a man.
– Inspect the blood next to the man (on the direction where he’s spitting the blood) to get Bloody Meat.
– Go to Nursing Home – Hallway.

Note tip:
[su_note]In order to get the meat from the guy you have to head back to the reception area. You will see the “butcher” dragging a body in a bag away and out of the picture. This triggers the change in the hallway so you’ll have the meat prepared for you.[/su_note]

Nursing Home – Hallway

– Give Bloody Meat to the man in the rightmost area.
– Go to some other area (i head back to the basement) and return to this area to talk to the man to get Food.
– Return to Nursing Home – Lobby.

Nursing Home – Lobby

– Use Food to the room right from the save point.

Nursing Home – Room Two

– Give Food to the lady to get Cowbell.
– Inspect the wardrobe on the left side of the room to get Hanger.
– Return to Nursing Home – Lobby.

Nursing Home – Lobby

– Give Hanger to the lady near the DECEPTION sign.

Distraint 9The Whistle

Talk to the cleaning lady.

– Use Hanger on the TV.
– Use Cowbell to the nurse in the DECEPTION sign.
– Go to Nursing Home – Hallway.

Nursing Home – Hallway

– Go to the door with cells on it.

Nursing Home – Room Three

– Use Cowbell to the skull.
– Inspect the skull to get Flower.
– Return to Nursing Home – Lobby.

Note tip:
[su_note]To get the flower and leave the room, you have to take the flower (and for that you need to have empty slot chosen) and then put the cowbell instead. exchange with cowbell in chosen slot doesn’t work (in both versions).[/su_note]

– Give Flower to the nurse in the DECEPTION sign.

Distraint 10A Flower To You, Beautiful!

Try giving flower to nurse.

– Use Flower to the door near the TV.

– Give Flower to the lady (Mrs. Goodwin).

The Third Distraint

Hallway

– Enter the first room you find.

Apartment 24 – Living Room

– Enter the rightmost room.

Apartment 24 – Room One

– Inspect the green light.
– Enter the unboarded room.

Apartment 24 – Room Two

– Wait until the light effect gone (until the background comes back to green) and enter the hole.

Apartment 24 – Between the Walls

– Enter the hole in the other side.

Apartment 24 – A Room Between the Walls

– Inspect the green light.
– Enter the unboarded room.

Apartment 24 – Between the Walls

– Head all the way to the left and inspect the painting to get Blue Piece of a Painting.
– Go to the leftmost area and go to the door.

Hallway

– Enter the first room you find.

Apartment 24 – Living Room

– Enter the first room you find.

Apartment 24 – Room Three

– Inspect the green light.
– Return to the Hallway.

Note tip:
[su_note]How do you return back to hallway? You switch the drug on, go right. And after that go LEFT. Once there, go all the way right.[/su_note]

– Inspect the painting in the rightmost area to get Red Piece of a Painting.
– Return to Apartment 24 – Room One.

– Inspect the green light.
– Return to Apartment 24 – Living Room.

– Use Blue Piece of a Painting and Red Piece of a Painting to the painting next to the slot machine.
– Inspect the painting again.

Apartment 24 – Lounge

– Talk to the first man you find.
– Return to Hallway.

– Inspect the door next to the painting.

– Talk to the guy.
– Enter the door next to them.

Apartment 26 – Room One

– Inspect the trash can to get Five Dollar Bill.
– Return to Apartment 24 – Lounge.

– Go to the previously blocked door.

Apartment 24 – Balcony

– Give Five Dollar Bill to the guy.

Distraint 11Cheer Up, Mate!

Try to cheer up the depressed dancer.

– Inspect the railings.
– Return to Apartment 24 – Lounge.

– Enter the rightmost room.

Apartment 24 – Storage

– Use Five Dollar Bill to the phone to get Coin.
– Return to Apartment 24 – Living Room.

Win the jackpot.

– Return to Apartment 26 – Living Room.

– Go to the leftmost room and inspect the paper to get Newspaper.
– Inspect the coffee maker to get Coffee.
– Inspect the chair in the living room.

– Enter through the rightmost gate.

– Go all the way to the right and talk to the man.
– Enter the cabin next to the save point.

Cemetery – Grave Digger’s Cabin

– Inspect the desk to get Cemetery Key.
– Return to Cemetery – Part One.

Cemetery – Part One

– Use Cemetery Key to the left gate.

Cemetery – Part Two

– Head all the way to the left and go to the first gate you find.

Cemetery – Part Three

– Head all the way to the right and talk to the lady to get Crowbar.
– Return to Cemetery – Part Four.

Cemetery – Part Four

– Give Crowbar to the man.
– Go to Cemetery – Grave Digger’s Cabin.

Cemetery – Grave Digger’s Cabin

– Use Crowbar near the bed.
– Exit through the newly opened door.

Cemetery – Part Two

– Head left and inspect the area to get Plank.
– Return to Cemetery – Part Four, to the place where the Grave Digger was.

– Use Plank on the place where the Grave Digger was.
– Go all the way to the right and inspect the area.
