How to Make Widescreen
This guide will show you way to get the game in proper widescreen.
Modified exe
To get the game in widescreen, you need to download a modified exe from GOG, which you can get here: https://files.gog.com/support/SC3U.zip
Download It, and Copy the exe to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SimCity 3000 Unlimited\Apps
If your Steam path is different, it obviously goes there, but this is the default one. Like GOG suggests, make a backup of your original Simcity 3000 exe, rename it to “SC3U.exe.bak” (you need to enable file extensions in “View”, which i recommend having enabled in general).
And that’s it
And that’s all you need to do. Just boot up the game, go to Preferences, and select your screen resolution, and you’re good to go.
